Panchakarma (“Pancha” means five and “karma” means treatment) is the Ayurvedic art of detoxification, purification, and rejuvenation. It is a powerful way to address the root cause of a disease and has been used for thousands of years as a method for staying healthy, young, and vital.

Nowadays, we are put under enormous pressure, stress and live a busy life with an unhealthy lifestyle. This influences and weakens our body and mind and has an impact on our vitality and life energy. If, too many or too severe stresses act on the body over a longer period, the body will suffer from imbalance which will finally lead to diseases. That is why, it is very important, to release stress, to detoxify the body and to relax the mind.

For many diseases, a Panchakarma cure can be very helpful, such as chronic pain, blockages, heavy headaches, Migrane, Depression, diseases of the digestive system, metabolic disorders, skin problems, joint pain, just to mention a few.

A Panchakarma cure is not only healing diseases, it also prevents the body from losing it’s balance and therefore it prevents the occurrence of new diseases. Furthermore it enhances the quality of life and compats the ageing process. You will feel fitter on a physical and psychological level.

Panchakarma is a healing method, based on 5 different cleaning treatments. Every single treatment helps body and mind to clean intensively through the elimination of toxins.

The cleaning process happens via the stomach, intestine, nose and the skin. Therefore we use herbal laxatives, enemas and nasal rinsing. An important part are also the Massages and steam baths, through which toxins will be eliminated out of the body.

How does the Panchakarma cure looks like?

The cleansing cure consists of three phases. In the first phase you will be given Ghee Oil every morning in order to prepare your body for the cleaning. Ghee loosens the toxins in the body. In addition the Oil massages will enable the elevation and movement of the toxins towards the stomach. Therefore the toxins are all collected in the digestive system and on the actual cleaning day they will be eliminated through the stool. Further treatments in order to achieve a full body cleaning are enema and the nasal cleaning. Steam baths and herbal baths will absorb further toxins through the skin. After the cleaning, the body will be strengthened in the third phase, through special medicine and treatments.

What is the ideal length for a Panchakarma cure?

The heavier the disease, the longer the cure should be. We recommend at least to consider two weeks, ideally a Panchakarma cure will be done for 3 to 4 weeks, in order to give the body enough time to change the metabolic processes, to stabilise and to activate the self healing powers.

We also offer cures for a shorter period of time, to get to know, what Ayurveda is and try, whether it is the right thing for you.

During the cure, we recommend to avoid too many physical exercises and long and exhausting excursions. Please try to plan your excursions before or after your cure, to get the most out of your stay with us.
